Another great review...www.ChristmasReviews.com "Consistent with my firm belief that Canada produces some of the truly great holiday albums, here comes the amazing Kim Fast, who is Missing the Mistletoe in Alberta. This saucy singer-songwriter effortlessly delivers jazzy pop in an acoustic setting. The diverse Christmas numbers seamlessly mix contemporary and ancient carols, and include two Fast originals.
For me, the success of offerings like this rises and falls on the strength of the lead voice, and Fast is first-rate. Her vocals are flirty and flexible, and her supporting trio provides an excellent foundation with arrangements that suit her style to a "T." The album opens brilliantly with seductive percussion on the Jingle Bells/Deck the Halls medley. The creative title track Missing the Mistletoe will have you longing for the festive yuletide kissing you've been waiting for all year; this original tune is a kicky treat. Fast's lovely I'll Be Home for Christmas is intense melancholy wrapped in Streisand-esque pop. In contrast, the more serious a cappella strains of O Come O Come Emmanuel has a more classical sentiment with gorgeous multi-layered harmonies that will transport you to a far better place. Everything is very, very good here.
Kim Fast has spunk and style, and her delightful Missing the Mistletoe most definitely deserves a listen--it's great!"--Carol Swanson (Reviewed in 2007)
The World Wide Web....I've ventured out into cyberworld with a wonderful site called CDBaby.com They've got a great thing going - artists you need to check this out.
Shutting Down for the Season - the beautiful thing about a Christmas album is that you get to pull it out every year and enjoy it like it's new! See you next year!

A Good Review...December 15, 2006 Edmonton Journal (G12) Roger Levesque "Two Edmonton-area singers have just brought out new albums of material in a pop-jazz vein geared to the holiday season. Not only do Kim Fast and Sandy Foster know each other, but both singers also enjoyed the talents of producer Wes Caswell in recording their discs. Both releases were also produced with financial contributions from Rawlco, the company behind Magic 99 FM...Kim Fast probably takes a few more liberties with the arrangements fo some of the more traditional tunes included in her CD Missing The Mistletoe. The opening track, Jingle Bells, takes on a kind of bluegrass/Latin treatment. She adds a couple of original numbers, including the lighthearted title track, as well as classic tunes that lean towards more religious themes."
Did you hear it yet? It has been great to hear "Coming Home" being played on ShineFM (105.9). If you hear other tracks on other radio stations, please email through the "contact me" page and tell us the station, the song and the date and time! Thanks. One good way to ensure that you'll hear one of my tunes on the radio is to request it! In Edmonton, Joe FM, Shine FM, Magic99, CKUA and CBC all have copies of the cd in their libraries. If they get played, they stay for next year in the cd library at a radio station. In Winnipeg, EVERY SINGLE STATION! Thanks to my distribution elf...Mom!
